Cody Jinks' New Album, After The Fire, Out Today
(Fort Worth, TEXAS) Cody Jinks surprises fans with an epic performance on The Grand Ole Opry and announces the upcoming release of a second new album, The Wanting.
Sharing the news was completely unexpected since the biggest independent artist in country music just released a new album, After The Fire, today.
Cody Jinks' The Wanting, coming Oct 18
The Wanting, comes October 18 and features 12 new songs. Both albums, The Wanting and After The Fire, are the first offerings from Jinks' own label, Late August Records. Expect more surprises as he also posted news that he is heading back to the studio this December.
New songs, "Same Kind Of Crazy As Me," "Which One I Feed," and the title track will be included on The Wanting and are now available on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, and all digital service providers.
Featured on After The Fire tracks "William And Wanda," "Think Like You Think," and "Ain't A Train" were also available ahead of the album releases. Jinks' adds insight into "William And Wanda" saying "We lost my grandfather earlier this year. My mother's father was the only grandfather I had, and we got closer than we had ever been after the death of my grandmother. He fought in Korea and was a part of the last great generation, so when Nanny died, we all saw a different side of him. When 'William And Wanda' came as an idea, I knew I had to write a song about how my nanny probably fussed at him for being late to heaven. I started the song shortly after his funeral, and my wife Rebecca helped me finish it. She would say, 'Your nanny would have said this,' and I would respond with what Papa would have said. It's the first full song Rebecca and I have sat down and written together. We are so proud of it; it's celebrating a 60 year love story told by two people building their own."
At the end of August, Jinks made his Grand Ole Opry debut. His three-song performance at the historic establishment that made county music famous, started with Clint Black personally introducing Jinks on stage and was followed by a standing ovation. Jinks continues his fall tour throughout the United States. His concerts in St. Louis, MO and Fredricksburg, TX are sold out, while his November 8 show in Asheville, NC at the US Cellular Center is nearly sold out. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster. See full itinerary below for more dates. Also coming in the near future is the launch of The Cody Jinks "FAM CLUB," as well as news about Jinks' Second Annual Loud and Heavy Fest. The inaugural multi-stage 10-hour music, arts, and food festival took place last year in his Fort Worth, TX hometown. The Dallas Morning News raved that "the thousands of misfits in attendance, for this one night at least, fit perfectly together," while Rolling Stone hailed the event as an "Outlaw Alternative to Status Quo."
