Interview: We're Getting 'Too Hot' with Singer/Songwriter, AJ Gatio

Singer/Songwriter, AJ Gatio is creating buzz, very very hot buzz! With the release of his single 'Too Hot', Gatio tells the painted-picture story that everyone can relate too. AJ Gatio discuss the inspiration behind 'Too Hot', spicy food, and discovering love for music.

Thank you for chatting with Music Update Central! You're gearing up for the release of your single 'Too Hot'. What's the inspiration behind the song? Started as melody in my head, that somehow ended in the phrase, "She's so hot, she's too hot". It was just one of those moments you capture on the Voice Memo app and it just kinda sits with you a bit. When I brought it in to write with my co-writers Adam Bruno and Taylor Mack, we were looking for the angle that could make the idea different than just, my girl is hot you know? Basically the heart of the song is about a dude getting strung along by a girl, and he just keeps going back to the idea of her any time a glimmer of hope appears. The literal image in my head is of a hot girl dangling a carrot on a string in front of the guy.

When did you discover your love for music? My earliest memories of music go back to riding in my dad's car to and from tee-ball practices. He'd be jamming the Bee Gees, Springsteen, or Neil Diamond and I remember just singing right along unconsciously. It wasn't until I was about 19 and in college when I really discovered my love for writing and playing music.

What can fans expect for 2018? I've got a lot planned for the beginning of this year. We're going to drop a single each of the next three months and just see how the reaction goes. We've got some more full band shows lined up than last year. Just really looking forward to traveling and rocking out more. That's what music's all about man.

MUC Random Question: What's your favorite spicy food that's 'too hot'? Princes' Hot Chicken in Nashville. I prefer the X Hot sauce. The XX Hot sauce literally brought me to tears it was "too hot"! (I'm great with Dad jokes).

Where can our readers follow you at? All the usual places. I will say though, Instagram gets the most love. I'm also trying to go LIVE once or twice a week so be sure to tune into those once in a while! That's where I like to test out new songs.
