Engagement on Social Media

There’s many people on social media, who only care about how many followers they have. They are focusing on the wrong things. With social media, you can’t focus on a number. You are wasting all your time and energy if that’s the case. A massive social media following may look attractive to people, but how much is it really benefiting you?

The key to social media is engagement. Less followers but more engagement is way better. Many people who have this massive social media presence, have little to no engagement. The more engagement and content your followers are taking in, it means you are bringing value to them in some manner.

What I have observed with social media, the people who are engaging in someone’s content, the more likely they are going to share it with their friends and/or followers. This is how content continues to spread out to more and more people. If one person really enjoys your content, there is a 99.9% chance that they have a friend, who would be interested in your content as well. Through word of mouth, the audience will continue to build.

The more engagement you are getting, your posts will continue to reach out to more people because of the way the algorithm is set up. It will show that this is important and people need to see this post. On the other hand, if your content is not getting much traction, it may forever get lost in the feed.

What I want you all to do is to stop worrying about how many followers you have, but instead focus on how much value you are bringing.

Thank you for reading this weeks blog post. Each week, I will be bringing helpful insight for artists and industry professionals - Stay tuned!
