SINGER-SONGWRITER NATHAN SHERIDAN RELEASES HEARTFELT NEW SINGLE "TROUBLED YOU"

“After my deployment to the Middle East in 2013, I really took a turn for the worst. I came home frustrated and emotionally unavailable to practically everyone around me. I wasn’t ready for the transition back to normal life. Combining this experience with an already traumatic childhood, it was a toxic recipe. It all took a huge toll on my relationship with my girlfriend (my wife now) and I found myself saying things I didn’t mean and putting my problems off on her. I was not treasuring her the way she deserved,” Nathan said. “It was a crazy time in life where I honestly just didn’t know how to deal with my own issues and projected everything onto her. I wrote “Troubled You” directly from that period of my life. It’s simply an apology to her for letting my troubled past creep into our lives and making my troubles her troubles. In hindsight, it’s also a song about owning the blame. It wasn’t my past that made her feel the way she felt. It was me doing all those things. At the end of the day, it wasn’t my circumstances or my history that needed to change, it was me,” Nathan explains.
Americana/ folk artist Nathan Sheridan was raised by his grandparents in the quaint town of Pearl River, Louisiana. Nathan endured a difficult past between his absent parents and the passing of his older sister at the young age of 8 years old. He overcame these difficult times by using his music as a way to heal and grow as an artist in recent years. Although Nathan had a rough start in life, a stable environment, consistent faith in God, and his grandparents provided shaped Nathan into who he is today.
At 17 years old, Nathan joined the United States Army on a 6-year contract. In 2013, he was deployed to Kuwait for 9 months. Four years later, Nathan was leaving the military and launching into his music career. In 2015, Sheridan married his wife, Harley, who inspired him to never stop chasing his dream. They moved to Nashville in 2017.
Nathan started his career in the CCM community and made a name for himself there. Nathan started to fall in love with the Americana/folk genre and found it had the honesty and raw qualities he found lacking within the CCM genre. Nathan desired to make music that was true to him and didn’t have to fit a specific mold.
He started his journey into this new sound when writing his song “Again”. “Again” depicts the nostalgic past of Nathan Sheridan and how we all wish we could live those memories, good or bad, again. CMT picked up the music video created for this song, and “Again” made it to number 8 on the 12 Pack Countdown.
The success of making it to CMT sparked momentum in Nathan to continue to dive deeper into the Americana/ folk genre. Currently, Nathan is working on new music that is real and plans to release it in the near future. Nathan’s goal is to always write honest, raw music that both relates to his fans and makes them think.
