1. You stated you wrote the song "Lovin You" while still bitter over a breakup. Was the release of the single cathartic for you?
It was...it feels good to have this song out in the world. I’m definitely not bitter anymore and am very much over that relationship, but to be able to release this song that I’ve worked so hard on and that meant so much to me was tied with a lot of emotion. 2. When you write a song does the melody or the concept come first?The concept almost always comes first for me. I usually have something that I know I want to write about and then start playing around with chords and melodies. 3. What is the best advice you would give to young girls about relationships?Know what you deserve. I think, especially young girls, can get so caught up in the excitement of being in a relationship, that they sacrifice so many parts of themselves. If you’re true to who you are and what you believe in from the start, I think it will be pretty clear whether or not the relationship is worth fighting for. 4. Okay...fun question! You are from St. Louis. Aside from sports and great songwriters like yourself, tell us something unique about your home state!We have some really good food! We are home to toasted ravioli and gooey butter cake - both delish!!
