Team Reba's (The Voice) Country Singer Donny Van Slee Releases a Two Song EP for his fans

Donny Van Slee surprised his fans and unexpectedly released his two new singles "Greatest Love Story" and "Why Haven't I Heard From You". You can listen to them here.  

"Greatest Love Story" is a LANCO song that Donny sang for his blind audition on The Voice. The cover "Why Haven't I Heard From You” is Donny’s favorite Reba McEntire Song.  Reba used her block on Donny, to ensure Donny's place on Team Reba.

Donny’s vocals perfectly match the vibe of the songs, while showing off his voice timbre and range. His voice is all country, sweet, and romantic in the “Greatest Love Story” as if pleading to be loved. When we get to his next cover, “Why Haven’t I Heard From You”, his vocals change and become more gritty with some of his southern soul. 

Raised off the west coast of Florida, singer/songwriter Donny Van Slee AKA Dr.Don realized at a young age that music was more than just a passion – it was his life’s art. After graduating high school in 2011, Donny started to perform at local restaurants, tiki huts, and breweries.

In 2018, Donny left his hometown to study at Palmer College of Chiropractic, located in Daytona Beach, Florida where he continued to perform live every weekend. Donny finally discovered Nashville, TN while road-tripping from Florida to Colorado to start a chiropractic internship.

After a few sent-out emails, the “World-Famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge” decided to grant him an audition. So, while Donny was driving back from Colorado to Florida to graduate from a Chiropractor school, he auditioned and they hired him. That’s when Donny decided to pursue his music career, moving to Nashville where he continues to write and release songs, perform at local venues, and practice chiropractic.

At home in Florida resides his supportive Jewish mother, Dutch/Indonesian father, brother, sister, niece, nephews, aunts, cousins, and extended family. His mother’s descendants escaped the holocaust. His father’s, father was a prisoner of war, captured for four years before migrating to Chicago, IL. Which is why Donny is a die-hard Chicago Bears fan.

Donny was chosen by Reba McEntire to be a part of her Team on the current season of The Voice. It was a dramatic entrance to her team when Reba blocked Dan & Shay to have Donny join her team.  Stay tuned to The Voice and join Donny on his journey.
