Review: Hasting & Co. Release Feel-Good Single “American Love”
Love songs is and always has been a major staple in country music and keeping that tradition alive is something that Kate Hasting and Josh Beale, otherwise known as Hasting & Co. takes to heart and they are doing so with their new single “American Love.” In 2013, the duo released their debut EP “Country Music,” honing their craft and finding their sound. Their newest release embodies all the hard work that they have contributed to their music over the last few years and it signifies how serious they are about making it to the top.
“American Love” is a very personal song for Hasting, who lost her father in an accident in 2018 which also left her mother critically injured. In the duo’s biography, Hasting describes the impact that her parents had on the music they made. “My parents have been such a huge part of the Hasting & Co. story. Though the accident was a setback, we knew we had to carry on—if not for ourselves, for my parents, who loved this band every bit as much as we do.” This quote alone goes to show fans the authenticity that were put into the lyrics.
As Hasting stated, the show must go on and they are doing just that, making authentic country music that fans want to hear. Hasting and Beale have a very busy spring coming their way, performing shows at the Dawghouse Saloon and opening for Brantley Gilbert, who is performing a benefit concert for police officer Matt Cooper, who was shot while chasing an apparent shoplifter. All proceeds will go directly to Officer Cooper and his family. To follow Hasting & Co., follow them on Instagram and Twitter @hastingandco.
