Music Update Central: What inspired you throughout the recording process of WHO I AM? Cory Marks: Life, really. This album was written throughout the last five years of my life. The good, The bad, and the ugly! MUC: What has life been like for you during the pandemic?
CM: It's definitely a change of pace as I'm generally not home for this long. Between touring, writing, recording, and shooting videos, I'm used to being home for no more than a month at a time. It has allowed me to spend a lot more time with family and friends and finish personal goals like my pilot's license. I'm flying twice a day now to finish and plan on being licensed before Christmas. I'm hoping to play live again in 2021! MUC: What is one thing you want listeners to take away from this project?
CM: I just hope they love the sound, and it opens a new lane and sound for country music and rock. The album really has all the elements for country rock and even metal fans; it's a different, cool, and unique mix, I think! Whether you're going out with friends on a Friday night or Saturday to a bar downtown or having a big old bonfire or going through a breakup or that Sunday morning coming down. MUC:What's your life motto?
CM: Be in the moment! Rock on. MUC: What projects can we expect to see from you soon?
CM: I'm writing every week and plan on heading back to Las Vegas in late January 2021 to start recording album #2. I'm excited to get back to work and release new music!
