Sparkling, spunky … and COUNTRY, that’s Maddye Trew! She brings all three of these elements to the forefront with the release of her brand-new single, “That’s The Lonely Talkin',” now available on all digital platforms. With this song, written by Jimmy Thrasher and Katie Barbour and produced by Luke Buishas, Trew pays tribute to the sounds of her idols - Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, and Carrie Underwood - with her whiskey-smooth delivery of the heartbreaking lyric and a fearless openness far beyond her years. It premiered on Radio SoBro’s NuMu Friday (an all-streaming radio platform allowing listeners to enjoy Nashville’s songwriters worldwide) upon release. Listen here. “‘That’s The Lonely Talkin’' was such a find, and I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to record this song,” says Trew. “I love the pop side of country, but Patsy [Cline] has always had my heart, and when I found this song, or it found me, I recognized its tone of grief and loneliness both in my own life and the lives of many around me. I just had to record it and I’m so grateful the writers Jimmy Thrasher and Katie Barbour shared it with me.” “The song just floats out of her,” says Jeff McMahon, ACM award-nominated keyboardist and longtime touring and recording partner with Tim McGraw – (“Live Like You Were Dying,” “Real Good Man,” “My Kind of Rain'') – and now a devoted member of Maddye’s team. “I love, LOVE her singin’. She’s so good, so soulful … and so real, which is refreshing. She knows who she is and what music she wants to make, and it was a thrill to play on this track with her.” “The first time I heard her sing `That's The Lonely Talkin’,” says producer Luke Buishas, “it felt both fresh and familiar, like a cover song that everyone already does … but no one has heard yet! An instant classic.” Brady Seals, hitmaker both with the legendary band Little Texas and as a solo artist, has also taken notice. “It’s nice to hear a good waltz and some real country music these days. Maddye’s voice is authentic and sincere.” Coming on the heels of her debut release, “Only Sometimes,” the attention-getting featured performance of her cover of Patty Loveless’ “Chains” with Country Rebel (currently showing over 163,000 views), and recent opportunities to perform alongside established artists including Darryl Worley, Wade Hayes, and Jim Brown, the light is starting to shine on Maddye Trew... and it’s only getting brighter! Even as the momentum starts to build with the release of “That’s The Lonely Talkin’," Trew is already making plans for her next release. “I’m so excited about everything! I want to make the most of every moment, and getting this song out there just warms my heart! I’ve already recorded what I believe will be my next single...and yeah, we’ve got some more fun stuff comin’!”
