Leah Marie Mason teams up with Austin Burke and Kidd G for all your country summer bop needs

Leah Marie Mason never tries to be perfect. Instead, the North Carolina-born and Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and artist allows her edges to frame an intimate and infectious brand of country that could resonate from a small town to the top of a big city. By doing so, she energizes the genre with universal pop appeal. Inspired by everything from the classic songwriting of George Strait, bluegrass of The Steeldrivers, and 21st century vibes of Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa, she spent countless hours writing and honed a sharp signature style, resulting in her debut single “Far Boy.” Taking the reins of her career, Leah watched YouTube tutorials about uploading media to Spotify, outsourced cover art, and finally decided to launch a TikTok page to promote “Far Boy.” The song played over a video captioned, “I called my ex to hang out so he could listen to this song I wrote about him,” and it organically exploded with 13 million views.

After her debut track “Far Boy” was released with almost one million streams in a week, she teamed up with rising country star Austin Burke to duet the viral track, bringing it even more recognition. The duo also released a music video to accompany the single.

Leah’s newest collaboration with breakout star Kidd G on “Love Isn’t Real,” is the next country hit for this summer. With Kidd G being one of the newest signed artists to Big Machine, Rebel Music, and Geffen Records at the young age of eighteen years old, he is already collecting multiple accolades within his music career. He is also elevating newcomer Leah Marie Mason with this newest collaboration, which is a remix of Kidd G’s track from his 2020 album Teenage Dream: 1000 Miles From Georgia. While Mason is equipped with her honey-sweet southern vocals, Kidd G is known for his unique style of melodic hip-hop beats fused with familiar country twang. Together, the pair are two sides of the same coin. This collaboration is a real teenage dream, much like the singers’ previous releases.

The duo met up in Nashville and immediately had an undeniable connection that was perfect for creating a duet out of Kidd G’s original single. The pair have created an amazing duet that is guaranteed to tug on your heartstrings. A pitch-perfect mixture of acoustic guitar and a driving beat keep the listener engaged with the story unfolding. While the structure of the song is similar to that of emotional modern country-R&B currently trending, the power of the duo is enough to catch the attention of devoted listeners of all genres. Disillusioned with the concept of love, each goes into the relationship believing that they both want the same thing. From the simple yet compulsively singable chorus to the heartbreakingly detailed verse from Mason, “Love Isn’t Real” proves itself to be wise beyond its age, much like the singers.

“Love Isn’t Real” has been featured on various Spotify and Apple playlists, including New Music Nashville, Best New Country Songs, and New in Country. Released alongside the single, the accompanying music video has already amassed over 159,000 views on YouTube.

Be sure to take a listen to “Love Isn’t Real” by Leah Marie Mason and Kidd G as well as Leah’s single “Far Boy” and her duet version of the single featuring Austin Burke.
