Interview: Unique Pop Artist, Hazel Bloom Shares Story Behind Single "Nobody Nothing"

The stylistically unique Pop artist Hazel Bloom is composed of one main singer/songwriter named Dave Carlin. With the release of the new single, "Nobody Nothing", Hazel Bloom shares the story behind the release, finding his passion for his musical career, plus more in our exclusive interview!

What's the inspiration behind your second release "Nobody Nothing"? I really wanted to write a song I believe anyone can relate to. Itʼs essentially about how hard it is to find the right person. Iʼve been through a lot of relationships over the past years and they always seemed to end the same way. I was constantly obsessing over what I was doing wrong and what I needed to change when in reality it just wasnʼt the right person.“We think too much, We feel too little” is the driving message behind this song. In my personal experience I always overthink everything and ignored what it really was I was feeling. Everything is always perfect at the start and that is a wholesome beautiful feeling and I felt I needed someone/that feeling to feel complete.

It wasnʼt until this past year where I realized I was perfectly fine and happy on my own and that was an eye opening feeling to have. I realized I needed to stop trying so hard to find something that I wasnʼtready to find. I needed to be happy with myself. Once I gained that mentality, everything started falling into place naturally.

When did you know that you wanted to pursue a musical career? I knew when I was about 10 years old and heard Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard. The feeling I got from that song instantly inspired me. At that moment I knew I wanted to create that same feeling for other people.

What can fans expect in the upcoming months? I release a new video on YouTube every Friday! Whether it’s a cover, original, or story, always a video every Friday! I also plan to release 2 more singles over the next couple months and a new EP in the summer! Accompanied with original music will be various music videos. I will also be playing more shows the upcoming months!

What's your 2019 New Years Resolution? My 2019 resolution is to work harder than I ever have. I plan to release 7-10 new songs this year accompanied by 3-4 music videos. I also wanted to come out of my comfort zone and post a video a week on my YouTube channel.

I plan to learn a lot more about marketing my music and i’m very excited to see how this year unravels!
