Interview: LYRX Shares The Story Behind “Take The Money”

From a little town on the border of Arkansas and Oklahoma, Lyrx seemed like any other girl. With her first single, Lyrx announces to both the world and country music that she’s her own woman with her own influences, and the only one that will write that story is herself. “I define me,” she says.

Thanks for chatting with Music Update Central! What's the inspiration behind your new single "Take The Money"? I walked into the write so sick of being told who to be as an artist. This was my response to people in the industry telling me if I wanted to “make it” I needed to change! It’s safe to say I ain’t changing.

This recent release was your very first country single. Where do you draw inspiration from? Everything I write is from personal experience. I want my songs to come across as genuine so I feel like sharing my heart and life is the best way to do that.

What can fans expect in the upcoming months? Upcoming releases? Tours/shows? I plan on releasing another single and lots of shows!
