Brittany Bexton Releases Empowering New Single "Kissin' Fear Goodbye"
California singer-songwriter, Brittany Bexton, has released her new song “Kissin’ Fear Goodbye,” about living with PTSD and anxiety. The song comes from a personal place as Brittany herself has lived with PTSD throughout her life. The song expresses her emotions, both from fear and joy, and the feeling of overcoming a major mental hurdle.
“Kissin’ Fear Goodbye” radiates empowerment and freedom and shares that there truly is a rainbow after the long, thundering storm. The song starts out with an acoustic guitar and Brittany’s lyrics. It swells to the chorus as she comes to the point of no longer being overpowered by all the fears. The drums and jovial tune come into play, and Brittany drives it home with the titular lyrics “Fear, I’m Kissin’ You Goodbye.”
"As someone who has had PTSD, I have dealt with crippling fear at points inmy life. But, at some point I knew that I couldn’t let fear drive the caranymore. I was tired of the lies fear whispered to me, and the ways it heldme back,so I made a conscious choice to say, enough is enough and facethose fears, and find freedom and healing. That’s what this song is about. The freedom that comes from looking your fear in the face, and saying I’m done with you." - Brittany Bexton
The journey Brittany sings about is shown in her own words “I was tired of the lies fear whispered to me, and the ways it held me back, so I made a conscious choice to say, enough is enough and face those fears, and find freedom and healing. That’s what this song is about. The freedom that comes from looking your fear in the face and saying I’m done with you.” As so many people fight their own battles living with anxiety, PTSD, and countless other mental illnesses, Brittany has turned that negative into a positive and uses it to fuel her songwriting.
