Brinn Black Releases a compelling video for her new single- 72's

Author: Robin Beers

Brinn Black has just released a video correlating with the release of her single “72’s”. The video was directed by Cory Brandon Clay, and edited by Jake Bonham. These two creative men found the right mix of energy that helped them complete the video, from filming to post production. Brinn felt that the entire experience was magical, and there were many circumstances made this a unique and inspiring look into the message for the song.

The single is about a relationship that burned out, but the metaphor of comparing it to a box of Blue Marlboro “72’s” is absolutely outstanding. You will understand why Brinn wrote this song along with Briana Tyson and Brittany Kennel, and the similarity of the message. The song starts out with the sound of a cigarette being lit up, I love this effect, it makes the song really an original. “I’ll be your Blue Marlboros 72”s”. A girl stating she can be just as desirable as a pack of cigarettes. The girl wants to be treated just like the undying devotion and desire for a 72’s.

Getting back to the video, it is an amazing cinematic video, shot in a documentary style. Brinn says that the entire experience was magical. “From the super bloom to the utter devastation left by the wildfires, it was like a cosmic metaphor for the song and the relationship that inspired it”. The reason Brinn talks about the video like this is because it was shot along Southern California’s PCH, where the massive forest fires had taken place. It is a wonderful piece of cinematic poetry. Brinn is also doing live performances in Nashville and the surrounding areas supporting the release of the video.
