BILLY RAY CYRUS CELEBRATES 19 WEEKS NO. 1 ON BILLBOARD HOT 100 ALL-GENRE CHART
Billy Ray Cyrus has done it again. He has another hit reigning on the Billboard Charts. His song with Lil Nas X's, "Old Town Road, the Billy Ray Cyrus Remix", is sitting pretty at Number 1 for 19 weeks. Billy Ray is also the only Country Artist with 7 Nominations for the upcoming MTV VMA Awards. Cyrus also announced that he is Co-Hosting the 2019 Canadian COuntry Music Awards on September 8. He also recently released a new single, "Chevys and Fords" with Johnny McGuire. Billy Ray Cyrus is not only making a comeback, but is also a multi-genre, highly successful artist.
"Old Town Road..." is the perfect mix of the country crooning sound from Billy Ray, while singing a catchy duet with American Rapper, Lil Nas X. You wouldn't think that this makes for a worthwhile combo, but the numbers don't lie. The minute the song starts and you are listening to the tune, your fee start to tap, you sing like a rapper (in a country style) , with a catchy chorus, "Gonna take my horse to the Old Town Road, gonna ride till I can't no more". Totally a little bit country, a little bit rap. Plat this tune over and over and you will be ready to sing right along with Bill Ray and Lil Nas X during the MTV VMA Awards SHow on August 26. (You may find yourself doing a little jig during the performance!).
Listening to Billy Ray's new release, another duet, this time with Johnny McGuire, "Chevys and Fords", has a very old time country sound to it. Much different than the prior release, it is equally enchanting, and will be another #1 hit. This song is much more of a take me back to the old time of country songs when storytelling was incorporated into the lyrics and the music was simple, but with that oh so great guitar riff. "I come from a long line of Chevys and Fords", "They were red, white and rusty, all painted up and dusty". Well that is the perfect piece of Americana!
