We're Out of Sight, Out Of Mind with Singer-Songwriter, Tiera

Nashville based singer-songwriter, Tiera, is creating her home in the musical community with her newest release "Out of Sight". With performing regular with Song Suffragettes, Tiera showcases her passion for supporting other females in the music industry.

What's the inspiration behind your single "Out of Sight”? I think it’s really easy to get overwhelmed and stressed about things going on around you, so I really wanted to write a song about getting out of town, turning off your phone, and just enjoying life. It’s so important to just have a mental break sometimes.

What's it like being apart of the Song Suffragettes family? I started playing with the Song Suffragettes about a year before I moved to Nashville and have been playing with them ever since. All of the girls that play Song Suffragettes have been so welcoming and it really is a great group to be apart of. I’ve written with a lot of those girls and become good friends with them. It’s nice to have friends that do the same thing because it’s easy to relate to each other.

When did you know that you wanted to pursue a musical career? I think it was around the age of 16 when I knew that music was what I wanted to do. I had tried some other hobbies like modeling and acting but music was what I really connected with and could see myself doing for the rest of my life. When I started high school I started to write songs and perform more around town and eventually started to come to Nashville to write and play shows.

What advice would you give to other artists? I would say to never give up. There are a lot of ups and downs in this business and it’s so easy to get discouraged but you have to always remember why you started on this path and use that as motivation to keep pushing forward.
