Marine Damian Knight releases single under Heart Songs for Veterans New Mentoring Program

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 11, 2018) - Damian is celebrating his five-year term with the Marines with his first single 'What Country Means to Me'. He left the Marines May 2nd to begin his music career. This song was written by John Spears (MS) and Jill Pavel of Heart Songs for Veterans has a lot to say about this release. "This song is so important. I started Heart Songs for Veterans in 2014 and we have helped many charities with funding, support and community service. This past year we decided to move in another direction and support active service members as well as Veterans by supporting their music careers. Many young service members exit the military with no specific direction and they find themselves lost, anxious and concerned for their future. This can lead to suicide which has always been the focus of Heart Songs for Veterans. We decided to utilize our platform as a progressive way to help lead our service members into a positive direction by education, support and of course recording. We funded his first three songs and our music community stepped up to mentor him in songwriting. This song was written by John Spears (MS) and he is now co-writing most of the music that will be presented on Damian's first EP. Damian signed a record deal with Victory Music Buzz LLC." Damian will be making his first appearance during CMA Fest at The Stillery on Friday, June 9th, 2018 at 4:30 pm. Damian Knight hails from Florida. He is an active Marine and Victory Music Buzz LLC signed Damian in 2017. He is a country singer-songwriter with aspirations to attend music school when he is done with his service to our country this summer. He has spent time on leave co-writing and recording his music. He releases his first single "What Country Means to Me" written by his songwriting partner John Spears and produced by Jerry Ramos - Mercury Recording Studios (Rahway, New Jersey) on May 11th, 2018.
