Review (single) Corey Wise I Don't Get You

Wisconsin raised singer/songwriter Corey Wise got interested in country music from her mother, who was an avid listener of George Jones, Merle Haggard, among others. He beat around on a Walmart guitar for quite some time, and learned that his love for music was very strong and decided to start playing shows after he graduated high school. His new single ‘I Don’t Get You’ is a song that has received great feedback, reaching 27,000 streams on Spotify since its release in late March.

The song itself tells a great story that Wise paints perfectly through his lyrics. It’s about a guy that doesn’t understand what is going through a girl’s head when her current relationship isn’t working out, yet she’s continuing to stay committed to a guy who isn’t necessarily committed to her. This song reminded me of Jake Owen’s ‘If He Ain’t Gonna Love You’ on his American Love album. While their musical styles and sounds are very different, the storyline is the same.

Wise will be touring his home state of Wisconsin in May with fellow musician Justin Zeman, showcasing this new single. This song will be a hit and will surely be on his setlist all summer long.
