Review: Lainey Wilson is Working Overtime with her new single release
Growing up as a farmer’s daughter, singer/songwriter knows what it means to work hard. She has spent the past several years traveling back and forth to Nashville from her small hometown of Baskin, Louisiana, writing and recording songs non-stop. She finally decided to pack up a bumper-pull camper and move to Nashville, where she parked this camper behind a friend’s studio parking lot for two years. She has since then grown as an artist with the release of her new single ‘Workin’ Overtime.’
‘Workin’ Overtime’ was one of the most unique and well-written songs that I have heard because of its classic country tone with a sinner outlaw storyline. This is the first release of her self-titled EP that is now available on Apple Music and Spotify. I could see someone like Miranda Lambert also singing this song, considering she has lots of boot-stomping outlaw songs.
Wilson has already received lots of publicity, working with fellow rising star Luke Combs and opening for several major artists like Tracy Lawrence, William Michael Morgan, and Dylan Scott. This publicity is just one of the many things that will help push her talents and abilities to the next level in Nashville and will put her on a long list of rising female country artists.
