Kane Brown Earns TWO RIAA Platinum Certifications As Self-Titled Debut Album and Hit Single 'Hea

Breakthrough star Kane Brown just received word that the Recording Industry Association of America is adding not one, but two awards to his tally: Brown’s self-titled debut album and hit single “Heaven” both have earned official Platinum certification for reaching the one million unit threshold of total physical sales, downloads and on-demand audio and/or video stream equivalents.

On the heels of achieving a 10th week at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and returning to the Top 20 of the all-genre Billboard 200 chart today, Brown’s debut becomes the sole country album to earn RIAA Platinum certification since its release in December 2016. 2018’s most-streamed country release has topped Billboard’s album consumption chart for 8 out of 11 weeks year-to-date. For the period since its debut, Kane Brown has held the #1 position for the most weeks of any country album and is available HERE.

“Heaven” is Brown’s third track to achieve Platinum or Multi-Platinum certification. “What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina became Double-Platinum in January and “Used to Love You Sober” became Platinum in February. The last single to achieve Platinum-certification at quicker pace than “Heaven” was Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” in June 2017.

“Heaven” maintains a fifth #1 consecutive week stronghold on Nielsen’s On Demand Audio Core Country Streaming chart this week. Also, its Top 10 airplay ascent continues as the single, produced by award-winning producer Dann Huff and co-written by Matthew McGinn, Lindsay Rimes and Shy Carter, rises to #6 on Country Aircheck/Mediabase and #7 on Billboard charts. The video clip of “Heaven, directed by Alex Alvga, has exceeded 65 million YouTube/VEVO views and is #6 on the all-genre VEVO Weekly Video Chart. View the video of “Heaven” HERE.

Kane Brown first topped the Billboard Top Country Albums chart with the release of his self-titled debut album in 2016 and again with the release of Kane Brown Deluxe Edition in 2017, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums and Top 5 on Billboard 200 Charts. That same week, the singer-songwriter became the first-ever artist to top all 5 Billboard Country Charts with his breakthrough #1 Top Country Album; #1 debuting Country Digital Song, “Heaven”; and #1 Country Airplay, Hot Country Song and Country Streaming Song, the Double-Platinum “What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina. In fact, Brown was awarded a Guinness World Record for becoming the first act to top five U.S. country charts simultaneously.

Recently announced as a performer on the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards airing live on CBS on April 15, 8/7 pm Central Time, Kane Brown is a double nominee. The 24-year-old entertainer is up for ACM’s New Male Vocalist andVocal Event of the Year for “What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina, an 18-week #1 on Nielsen’s On Demand Audio Core Country Streaming chart and 2018’s most-streamed song.
