Review: (EP) Break Out Day The Party's Over
In the summer of 2009 identical twin brothers Jason and Andrew Weisbein formed the punk alternative band Break Out Day. The brother’s influences include Fall Out Boy, Blink 182 and All Time Low. On March 30th the band will release its newest EP titled Echoes Of The Past. The highly anticipated 4 track EP is sure to be a glaring contrast of previous EPs, so much that it showcases the bands evolution since their humble beginnings in 2009.
The EP begins with the adrenaline fueled The Party’s Over. An instant barrage of hard driven drumming mixed with wicked guitar and vocals help to drive this track full circle. It is more than fair to say that this track could easily be on the playlist of skaters everywhere. All of the bands influences come through loud and clear on The Party’s Over. This track was my favorite and I highly recommend to anyone that was a fan of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater video game franchise, as it will bring you right back to that era.
Overall the 4 track EP serves as a testament to the forward moving progression being made by Break Out Day. So many elements were mixed together so well lyrically, vocally and music production. There’s not much more that can be said about the band other than they are badass, plain and simple. I highly recommend buying this EP and adding it to your playlist.
