Deep Chemistry, Unimaginable Feelings and Temptation of Love Serves as Inspiration Behind James Dupr
NBC’s “The Voice” alum and Country singer-songwriter, James Dupré has released “Hurt Good” to Country radio.
The soul-piercing track spotlights a relationship of deep chemistry that leads to unimaginable feelings and temptation between two individuals. "'Hurt Good'” is about a relationship that progresses unexpectedly and faster than anticipated. Now that they are in it, it’s all they can think about, and they can’t get enough of it,” comments Dupré. “I immediately loved the feel of the song; it’s such a dark and sexy lyric.” Dupré pairs the edgy lyrics with his deep vocal tone, singing, “You're a twisty road that I can't un-drive. You're the perfect knot that I can't untie, and I don't wanna try. Of all the crazy things I've ever done, you're my favorite one.” The song is the follow-up to his debut release “Stoned To Death” which reached #45 on the Billboard Indicator chart and #33 on the Music Row CountryBreakOut chart.
The track from Dupré’s forthcoming project, written by Nashville hit-makers, Jessi Alexander (“The Climb”, “I Drive Your Truck”), Travis Meadows (“Hot Beer & Cold Women”, “What We Ain’t Got”) and Mike Mobley (“Easy," “Man of the House”) is produced by Jordan Lehning(Kacey Musgraves, Kree Harrison) and Kyle Lehning (Dan Seals, George Jones, Randy Travis) and is receiving early attention from radio. “James Dupré is one of the more surprising new voices I’ve heard recently, and he’s got a story to match!” Fletch Brown, OM/PD WXFL-FM Florence, AL. “Hurting never sounded so good!” commented Country music superstar and Dupré’s mentor, Randy Travis. “James Dupré has a voice and a delivery that leaves you shaking your head—so pure, so strong, so effortless. I could listen all day! His talent deserves notice, by all—writers, producers, labels, and listeners. I’m anxious to see ‘Hurt Good’ hit the charts and take wings!” GrassRoots Promotion is handling radio promotion and booking.
