Review: Dugger Band ‘East Tennessee Son’ (EP)
Brothers Jordan and Seth Dugger are quite the pair when it comes to making music. The two officially formed Dugger Band in 2011 and haven’t looked back since. Their combination of country, pop, and rock have made headlines in Nashville and the newly released EP ‘East Tennessee Son’ will resemble those same sounds.
In this new EP, the East Tennessee natives released a single that is also part of the EP called “East Tennessee Son” which describes how the town they’re from shaped their lives, particularly their musical career. This song hit 70 on the MusicRow chart and was featured on ERG Music’s Nu Country Traxx with artists like Trace Adkins, Blake Shelton, and Chris Lane.
The EP features five other catchy songs that country fans of all ages will enjoy. Songs like One Track Mind and Postcard both describe the feeling of being in awe of a relationship and wanting to show-off that particular someone to the world. A slower paced song that goes along with One Track Mind and Postcard is ‘For the Girl.’ This song was different from the others on this EP not only because was it the only true love song, it could also be easily portrayed in the listener’s mind. While hearing this song for the first time, I couldn’t help but to think about how many people fall into the category of being the “desperado” that they describe in the lyrics. Two of my personal favorites in this EP is #Doitforthestory and Warning Label. Both have a heavy rock influence as well as lyrics that will be stuck in your head for hours.
The potential that these two have is through the roof and I think that their big break in country music will happen very soon. Dugger Band is simply too good to not be on every radio station in the country in my opinion and I would be willing to argue with anyone that disagrees.
