UPROXX Reveals the Story Behind Carly Pearce
Breakthrough female vocalist CARLY PEARCE continues to defy the odds. Just last year her GOLD-certified, chart-topping title track from EVERY LITTLE THING (Big Machine Records) designated Carly as the highest charting solo female debut since July 2015, joining an elite group of only three women to accomplish this feat in the past twelve years. Her seemingly overnight success didn’t come easy – It was fueled by a lifelong dream, undying determination and years of perseverance. Earlier this year she revealed to the New York Post, “I worked at a mall, I cleaned Airbnbs. I learned humility – and that you’re never guaranteed anything.” Now, a new documentary series Honda Backstage: The Story Behind the Artist presented by Honda, iHeartMedia & Uproxx is highlighting more of Carly’s backstory. Aptly hailed the “new voice of Country” (People), Carly’s latest offering “Hide The Wine” marks her third consecutive No.1 at SiriusXM The Highway, following “Every Little Thing” and “If My Name Was Whiskey.” As Rolling Stone Country proclaims it’s, “emblematic of the grit that has characterized Pearce’s unlikely rise to country hit maker.” Watch the official music video now. Country radio programmers nationwide voted in Carly as one of the esteemed 2018 CRS New Faces and she will join other hot up-and-coming stars at the official ceremony in their honor on February 7 during Country Radio Seminar in Nashville. Carly has also earned coveted spots on Nashville Scene’s annual Country Music Critics’ Poll for Best Female Vocalist (No. 10), Best New Act (No. 3) and Best Single for “Every Little Thing” (No. 5), which was voted on by 94 top music journalists.
Following her sold-out run on Brett Young’s CALIVILLE TOUR, Carly heads out with Blake Shelton’s COUNTRY MUSIC FREAKS, Thomas Rhett’s LIFE CHANGES, Rascal Flatts’ BACK TO US and Luke Bryan’s WHAT MAKES YOU COUNTRY tours throughout 2018. As part of the Country Music Hall of Fame’s All for the Hall concert series in New York City, Carly collaborated with PS 169/Baychester Academy students on an original song they will premiere during the February 13 guitar pull with Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Maren Morris and Kesha.
