Kristen Foreman discusses the inspiration behind single "Feather Tattoo", hometown inspiration, and go-to fast food.

Thank you so much for chatting with Music Update Central! Tell us about your recently released single "Feather Tattoo". What's the inspiration behind the single? I starting writing my own songs about 5 years ago. At the time, I was just writing for myself and had no intention of really showing anyone else but eventually, I realized that I wanted to establish myself as an original artist so I decided to record my first album. Feather Tattoo was the first song that I had ever written so that is what inspired the title.

If you could only perform with one instrument backing you what would it be? I could listen to pedal steel all day long, so that would definitely be my pick.

How has your hometown impacted your musical career? Lafayette, LA is where I figured out that I wanted to pursue a career in music. It has such a rich culture and music is a big part of the town. Fun Fact: Festival International takes place in Lafayette every year and it is the largest international music and arts festival in the US. Even though I am the first person in my family to be musically inclined, I was still surrounded by music growing up in my community. I got a chance to sit in with a local weekly acoustic duo one night when I was a freshman in college and that is what truly sparked my passion and got me started on this journey.
