Thank you for chatting with Music Update Central! You guys are releasing a brand new single "Loaded Love". What's the inspiration behind the single? Loaded Love is inspired by a very passionate, and powerful relationship, and trying to maintain that while trying to fight off all your demons and insecurities inside eating at you. A Loaded Love is a love so powerful that it is comparable to a loaded gun. I’m aware that sounds like a scary and intimidating thing, and it is, but you just can’t be careless with it. You’ve got to find a balance between taking care of yourself and taking care of your relationship, and sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t.
How did Aeves come to be? Well, Matt and I met in middle school, and we’ve always maintained a friendship since then. We were definitely token scene kids at our school, and we all know scene kids ran in packs. We all had weekly meetings at the mall and at hot topic and when we went to see My Chemical Romance. I’m half kidding. But anyway, we maintained our friendship through that time and had always been playing music in other bands, and both of our bands kind of went defunct around the same time, so we decided to start writing music together so we’d have someone to write with, and it kind of evolved from there.
Funniest Performance Moment? There was one show I was playing where this dude just got super disruptive and started screaming for me to play Creed. No particular song, just Creed in general. So I did what he asked and part of the set became a Creed mash up medley, and he was absolutely enthralled, and everyone else seemed to get a kick out of it. Bless you, Scott Stapp.
Matt: We also like to dedicate our cover of Avril Lavigne’s Complicated to Donald Trump and what he’s done to this country. Ya know, why’d he have to go and make things so complicated.
MUC Random Question: Favorite TV show? I’ve got a few. I absolutely love The Office, Silicon Valley, BoJack Horseman, Scandal, and Breaking Bad. All great shows.
Matt’s is definitely Friends, I am aware he rewatches a whole season probably at least once every two weeks. Also, Bojack Horseman. Such a good show.
