Welcome to Anthem Rock: VISTA

Anthem Rock band, VISTA just released their sophomore EP on July 21st. With goals and passion, VISTA discusses the inspiration behind their EP, forming the band, and their biggest fans that impact their musical career.

Thank you for chatting with Music Update Central! You're gearing up for the release of your sophomore EP on July 21st. What can fans expect from this EP?

Hope: Thank you for talking with us! We’ve been working on this concept for a while now, so we’re both super stoked to breathe full life into it and reveal all of the little things we’ve been planning. It’s definitely a weird concept and I’ve been slightly worried that it won’t read. But it’s a really energetic record, very honest, very anthemic. It paints out a dystopian society that kind of mirrors current world events.

Greg: Thank YOU! You can expect a nice step forward from Versus, something with a lot more depth and more developed. Sonically the record has a lot of flare to it and it’s a lot more charged than Versus, so I'm excited to hear what fans think of it.

How'd VISTA come to be?

Hope: Greg unfortunately wasn’t in the band at its inception, he joined the band almost a year ago now, which is wild. But he heard I was looking for a new guitarist for VISTA, we had mutual friends, he messaged me on Facebook asking about the band, and that was it! We jammed a few days later, he came in knowing all of the VISTA tracks, and it just meshed together perfectly.

Greg: That was pretty simple, actually! The hard stuff comes later, haha.

What is your favorite song on this EP and why?

Hope: This has been such a hard question for me to answer because it changes every day. I like “Long Live” a lot because it really describes where VISTA is at currently, what our mental state is, how we feel about the band, like long live VISTA. It has not been an easy road to this point, but as a twosome we genuinely feel stronger than ever.

Greg: Yeah I go back and forth between “Long Live” and “Hellbent” because they’re just both such bangers. They both have really cool parts.

If you guys had any super power, what would it be and why?

Hope: I DON’T KNOWWWWWW, I’VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION. If this was even a possible superpower it would be to always be happy :’)

Greg: Invisibility? Yeah, I think invisibility. Maybe the ability to fly as well.

Hope: I don’t even know what potential super powers really exist. THE ABILITY TO EAT WHATEVER I WANT WITH NO CALORIES.
