#NMM Pink Roses

Pink Roses

Pink Roses consists of two successful young silicon valley tech entrepreneurs, Nate Tepper and Dave Fontenot, turned dream pop duo. They call their style “chill emotional dream pop” — fans compare them to bands like LANY and The 1975. Driven by waves of 80’s style synth mixed with modern day beats and catchy pop melodies Pink Roses has quickly made a name for themselves in the LA scene.

They launched on Valentine’s Day 2019 and their first single ”hollywood” reached 60,000+ streams in its first month. Since then, they have successfully organized and sold out two 150 cap shows in LA. They are releasing their next single “westside” on June 11th and are scheduled to headline Hotel Café (Main Room 215 cap) on Saturday, June 22nd.. They plan to release their first EP in Summer 2019 and their second EP later this year, both produced by Cameron Hale (Khalid, Kiana Lede, Kailee Morgue, etc.).

Dave and Nate met years before starting Pink Roses, while living in a tech startup hacker house in San Francisco. They would write music together every night, after working on their startups. They wrote over 100 songs in their bedroom. In February 2019, they decided to move to LA and start Pink Roses.

With their successful entrepreneurial backgrounds in music and tech Dave and Nate have a unique approach to Pink Roses. Along with a creative artistic vision, brand, and aesthetic for Pink Roses, they take their startup experience and apply it to their music careers. Now with connections in the industry and early traction they are able to self-fund and self-manage Pink Roses with plans of one day playing stadiums

Here is their music update central interview, check out their single "Westside"

How did the formation of Pink Roses happen?

We first met when we lived together at a hacker house in San Francisco with 14 other tech entrepreneurs. We were building cool tech companies during the day and every night Dave and I would get together and make music. We naturally started writing songs for fun and would play them for our friends. Last year we wrote 100 songs. Next thing you know all our friends were singing the lyrics to our songs when we would play backyard shows for 50 people. We then realized we wanted to pursue our passion for music so we moved to LA. That’s when we decided to take it seriously and that’s how Pink Roses was born.

What's the inspiration behind your latest single, "Westside"?

I remember going home from college in the summers. My friends and I would drive around aimlessly and ride our bikes through our hometown. Sometimes we’d have girlfriends and we would take them to all of these special spots that were ours. There was this romantic and nostalgic feeling to all of it. Especially now when I look back on it. It was a young and innocent time in our lives when we would stay out all night and make out under the stars. I wanted to create that feeling in a song.

What can fans expect while listening to your music?

Our vision is to create a whole world of Pink Roses. We want our fans to have visual, cinematic, nostalgic, and emotional experience while listening to our music. We want Pink Roses to give you that sensation of driving down the Pacific Coast Highway, with the top down, the ocean breeze in your hair, and the sunset over the horizon line.

What do you guys have coming up in the future?

We have an amazing new single coming out very soon called “dont give up on me”. It is an extremely emotional song. It is probably our best song yet. We are so stoked on it. We are also writing 30 new songs over the next 2 months and are set to record a 5 song EP later this year. We are filming our first music video this month too! And we have a show on 9/26 at The Mint in Los Angeles. Outside of that, I can almost guarantee that we will be playing some more shows in LA, NYC, and SF.
