When singer/songwriter Chuck Wicks thinks of his life over the past three years, referring to it as a “roller coaster” like many have, would be considered an understatement. Wicks has been a well-known person in the music industry for a little over a decade, creating his own original music while penning songs for familiar faces like Frankie Ballard and Jason Aldean and also has a co-host on the nationally syndicated radio show Ty, Kelly, and Chuck. His “roller coaster” went down a steep slope in 2016 when a near fatal car accident occurred, causing a broken neck. As a collegiate baseball player, he was taught grit and determination and he put this to use and ultimately recovered from the injuries, even appearing on Ironman: Quest for Kona. Even while remaining busy as a radio co-host and on television, he gives most of attention to his true passion of making music and he’s done just that by releasing “Better Than Flowers,” his first single since 2016.
This romantic track was released to revamp the Delaware native’s career on stage and it has done that, plus some. Wicks just released the music video for the single, which features Olympian Nastia Luikin in a romantic backdrop that helps capture a summer fling. With the combination of Wicks’ voice and the lyrics, this has “radio hit” written all over it.
There’s no question why Chuck Wicks has gained traction with his latest single and he continues to gain traction while performing it live and getting the music video out to his large fan base.
