We're kickin' off our coverage of the Iowa State Fair on Sunday, August 12th with Nashville trio, Renta performing on the MidAmerica Stage.
You may know them from Matt's Family Jam, however after residing in Nashville, TN the children Collin, Adrienne and Benny are pursuing a musical path with their country/rock trio, Renata.
While watching their set, they delivered strong vocals and instrumental skills far surpassing their young ages. They provided fans an engaging performance with a mix of covers from The Band Perry to Little Big Town while staying true to their roots and showcasing their original music written since residing in Nashville, TN.
I sat down with the trio to chat about their debut self-titled album, "Renata".
"This is the first album since the move from Branson to Nashville. We really wanted to showcase the ability showcased in our shows as well as the original music we've written since moving to Nashville." explains Collin.
If Matt's Family Jam or Renata is in your area, I certainly promise you that you won't be disappointed. They trio grab the attention of the audience with their blending vocals and their musical abilities.
About Iowa State Fair:
The internationally acclaimed Iowa State Fair is the single largest event in the state of Iowa and one of the oldest and largest agricultural and industrial expositions in the country. Annually attracting more than a million people from all over the world, the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines is Iowa’s great celebration, a salute to the state’s best in agriculture, industry, entertainment and achievement. It is the true heartbeat of the Midwest, unequaled and unduplicated.
The Iowa State Fair, the inspiration for the original novel “State Fair” by Iowan Phil Stong, three motion pictures and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Broadway musical, is without a doubt the country’s most famous state fair.
National media frequently rank the Fair as one of the top events in the country. In 2004, USA Weekend named the event the #2 choice for summer fun in America, topping New York City’s Times Square, Cedar Point Amusement Park Resort in Ohio and Disneyland in California. Midwest Living magazine named the Fair one of the “Top 30 Things Every Midwesterner Should Experience.” The Fair is also included in the New York Times best-selling travel book 1000 Places to See Before You Die and the subsequent travel book, 1,000 Places to See in the U.S.A. and Canada Before you Die.
