Country rockstress Kalie Shorr released Awake last night to an at-capacity crowd of fans, music industry and friends in Nashville. The highly-anticipated new project features seven songs that bring a rock-infused sound to country, showcasing Shorr’s authenticity, passion and energy which she injects into her music. Awake is available now on iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon Music and Spotify.
"I have always said that I loved country music because it was raw, real, and honest,” Shorr explains. "But until now, I found myself glossing over my truth, whether I meant to or not. The truth is, I have lived a lot in 23 years. My life has been messy and beautiful, sometimes at the same time. So this time around, I made a promise to myself to be vulnerable and not hold back- just make REAL music. I feel like I took a really big step, both career wise but also personally. Everything about this project is what makes me who I am, and I owe all seven of these songs for showing me exactly what that is. I was so intentional with the lyrics, the guitars, the visuals. Seeing it come to life has been so magical and honestly, it feels like I’m walking around my own little world where cotton candy grows on trees and they play Dixie Chicks and Paramore on the same radio station. I am so thankful to get to celebrate this with my producer Skip Black and my incredible teams at Cassetty Entertainment, CAA, and 117. It takes a village and they are the best village a girl could ask for.” Each of the seven songs on the EP were accompanied with a promo exclusive, which premiered via social media on Taste of Country, Sounds Like Nashville, Radio Disney Country, Whiskey Riff, CMT, One Country, and the Country Source. Shorr co-hosted Sirius XM The Highway’s “On The Horizon” with Buzz Brainard on Thursday to talk about the EP, her upcoming tour opening for Sara Evans and RaeLynn, and what’s to come for the budding star. The debut single “Two Hands” was released in October, and was added to Sirius XM The Highway, Radio Disney Country and TuneIn with prominent placement on Apple Music’s Breaking Country and Cool Country playlists. Already this year Shorr has been highlighted as one to watch by Huffington Post, TBK Magazine, Nashville.com, New England Country Music, Nashville Country Club, One Country, The Country Source, Nashville Gab, and The Country Note. “Kalie Shorr’s perspective is something that’s needed in today’s country music. Articulate and fearless, she’s unafraid to express exactly what’s on her mind in everyday conversation or in her songs.” - Lauren Tingle, CMT “When you listen to her music, you will no doubt be charmed and impressed by the vocal acrobatics that she displays throughout her debut EP.” - Chuck Dauphin, Sounds Like Nashville "You'll be left with a craving for a girls night where all you do is blare Shorr's country-with-a-flare-of-pop music" - Leslie Armstrong, Nashville Country Club "...what really sets Shorr apart is her impeccable sense of storytelling.” "Shorr’s ability to blend genres is daring, undeniably true to herself, and unique." - Megan Holley, The Country Source Awake Track Listing: 1.
